The massage was really amazing. The inside the spa was beautiful! There's no separate for men anf women, you must be ok with that. I quite possibly get somewhere between massages a year, and have done so for the last years.
And this includes all sorts of massages from Asian massage, to hotel massages, to spas to foot massage parlors, etc.. The massage at Sauna Deco was the worst massage I have ever received.
How this place could be rated 1 in all of Amsterdam is dumbfounding and all of these 4 and 5 ratings baffle me and I have to wonder if these people know what a massage is I honestly could care less about the decor, sure it's a bit art deco, but honestly to me it looks old, feels old and is old. Fine, but the massage was terrible.
I opted not to use oil, but instead to use pressure. But unfortunately they still used a bit of oil. Troublesome as my clothing is micro fiber which helps the clothing dry faster when wet, oils will ruin the function, so I was forced to take a shower there, more about that later I think the massage was an hour, I think I would have walked out if it was any longer, and it cost something like 60 Euro! Ok, so, about the massage… all she did was pet me.
Her name was Bea I think. I felt I was a house pet! It was not even remotely close to being called a massage. It was more like being petted! I left feeling more un-relaxed than I did when I entered the place and that is not the purpose of getting a massage! A massage is meant to help you feel more relaxed, to relieve the tension in your muscle and help your body heal! I have even studied this sort of thing for 12 years!
