My husband and I stayed at the Pulitzer for 5 nights. This hotel is NOT convenient for tourism. While it is true it is close to the metro. You have several stops before any attractions and the metro is packed, dirty, not air conditioned and graffiti. The price is still steep for the location and the room wasn't much better than a Marriott at home. Pictures on website are a bit deceiving. The problem came when we came back to the hotel every night between SO as you are walking back from the metro to your hotel you are bombarded by women with bras showing and butt cheeks hanging out.
I was horrified and immediately felt unsafe. There are no security measures in the hotel and often at night front desk person is hanging out in the back chatting! Anybody can come in or out, and you do not need a card to go up or down the elevators. Stay somewhere else close to the tourist attractions, even if it is older and rooms are not as nice. OR spend a little more.
Dear Madame, Let me thank you first for the time for writing us: As Hotel Manager I have read attentively about your experience, and I would like to focusing on your attention about a couple of things you may have not noticed during your stay. Most of the complaints you have written about the Metro, the trains and the graffiti, and you will certainly agree, are obviously nothing to do with the Hotel.
I reckon, anyway, that probably you have only been very unlucky because all the trains from the Metro A and B line have recently been replaced by brand new ones all with air conditioned and very comfortable seats. Regarding the Hotel , I would like to stress the fact that there is a security service well recognizable in uniform , especially during the night, operating every day, inside and outside the Hotel in order to guarantee your safe in case of emergency and even to prevent any kind of problem like ensuring that people from the hotel only can have the access the hotel especially during the night.
Furthermore, the hotel is provided of monitoring CCTV system in order to double-check the people who are walking into the hotel even from the back office. In spite of all the area is really very safe, Security staff and the CCTV systems are only because we want to guarantee always the highest level of security. I have also read about the prostitutes you happened to meet while walking along the street on your way back to the hotel: I am sorry for the bad experience you had with prostitutes outside but, still this is again nothing to do with the hotel itself and prostitutes as you know are everywhere in the world not just in Rome.
