This could be a nice hotel, but it is spoiled by exceptionally poor management. One evening I saw one prostitute openly working the bar, where she found a customer. Another afternoon I saw a different prostitute, who knocked on several doors trying to locate her customer. He eventually came out of his room to collect her.
There is no chance that the management and staff of the hotel is unaware of what is going on. Upon checking out we found out that the hotel did not accept Cedis the local currency , when you pay by credit card.
When complaining to the lady finance manager she either pretended to not understand the issue, or perhaps she really did not. On top of that we were delayed for more than an hour. I just hate being cheated. The hotel also advertises WifFi, but forgets to mention that their technician has to change the settings on your PC several times a day. Avoid this hotel unless it is the last free room in Accra. Having experienced a dreadful hotel stay last year in Lagos, we were very pleasantly surprised by both the hotel and by Ghana in general.
Rooms are plainly furnished but comfortable and there are a selection of TV channels, including the all-important Super Sports. Nice pool but the gym is a little small and light on equipment. The restaurant is essentially a buffet operation - simple plain food and satisfying if not exactly exciting. The bar is attached to the lobby. The best feature of the hotel is the very good-natured service and the obvious efforts of a hands-on management to ensure as high standards as possible.
This is a very popular hotel also used by Emirates crews and often fully booked. I've stayed at this hotel many times in the last two years and feel it's the best service and value in the city of Accra. It's not the most glamorous in the city, or the most convenient, yet the food, staff, calm scene, and business atmosphere keep it at the top of the list for Accra. Great modern hotel with all the amenities of American hotels.
