If you want to stay at a brothel then stay here. Not to mention I believe the staff were on drugs. These people are horrific and the hotel is worse. Stayed here for 3 nights while on holiday in Canada. This hotel is about 0. They do not serve meals at the hotel itself but there is a breakfast restaurant next door which does good starters for the day. Efficient reception staff who were happy to book a taxi for me to return to the railway station which is about 2 miles away as the crow flies.
Dear Bob S, thank you for sharing your feedback. It is great to see you enjoyed your stay with our Days Inn Ottawa Downtown. Thank you for mentioning the 3 Nineteen Restaurant on site. Indeed, their breakfast is great and priced well, they also offer lunch and dinner options, including burgers, chicken Kiev, Steak, Fish and Chips, etc.
We encourage you to try it next time. We are delighted to see you find our staff helpful. Just Spent two nights here on 3 week trip round Canada. I had room which is opposite the car park and it had a lovely comfortable queens sized bed. I got my best nights sleep here after the somewhat noisy but comfy hotel I stayed in at Toronto. My room had coffee making facilities, TV, hairdryer and a fridge which was very handy. The hotel has a couple of supermarkets nearby so I was able to to stock up on watermelon for breakfast and drinks and snacks for a chilled out evening in front of the TV getting over my jet lag.
It also helped that my room had a great power shower so i could have a relaxing hot shower after my day's sightseeing in Ottawa. The hotel receptionist, Igor, was very friendly and chatted away and told me about the local area , its attractions and its issues. Reception had a computer with a printer for guests to use and it is where I did my reviews.
Next door to the hotel is a diner where you can grab breakfast in the mornings from 7. The hotel is well situated and about 3 blocks away from By wards Market and all the great restaurants. I enjoyed a beavers tail and coffee right by the market. The Rideau canal and parliament are not much further away from the market than another couple of blocks. The hotel is also close to two missions for the homeless so expect to see homeless people on street corners. However, don't be put off by that.
